When it comes to the Dingle peninsula there are some eye-catching places to stop and check out on your travels. Two musts are as follows,

With this in mind I am going to list 5 breath-taking view points to check out by car.

Slea Head Drive


Any trip to Dingle requires a trip around this out of this world cliff side road. Made famous from movies such as Ryan's Daughter, Far and Away and now Star Wars it is a must on any activity list.

Coumeenole Beach


No bias here, the best beach in the world. It doesn't get more glorious then this, especially on a fine summers day. A world away from anything else Ireland has to offer outside of the great Blasket Islands which is mesmerising in itself.

Star Wars Viewing Point


One of the biggest draws to West Kerry over the last number of years has been the huge publicity generated by the Star Wars franchise, filming across the Dingle Peninsula. Once you embark on your trip around Slead Head you will come across this picturesque view point. The opening scene was also filmed for the movie Far and Away, featuring Tom Cruise on this very site.

The Conor Pass


The only way to arrive into Dingle town on a fine sunny day is over one of the highest mountain passes in Ireland (456 m) along the R560.
